What Is PC PTFE?

pc ptfe is an advanced technical material that combines the mechanical properties of polycarbonate (PC) with the low friction index of PTFE, allowing for printing 3D pieces with reduced wear and friction. Its dimensional stability and resistance to high temperatures make it ideal for applications that require good abrasion resistance, especially in applications that involve rubbing or friction with other parts.

Moreover, pc ptfe is a hydrophobic material, so it repels water, making it ideal for creating parts that are in contact with rolling elements. The PTFE component also reduces friction between parts, which allows for improved adhesion of the print bed.

This filament is recommended for experienced users with a closed chamber and a high power extruder. It must be stored in an airtight container with desiccant and out of direct sunlight, to avoid humidity fluctuations during the storage period.

It is possible to store this filament up to 130 degC, but do not extrude above 330degC, as this could cause the creation of VOCs. It is best to use this filament in a closed chamber and with a hot base, in order to avoid deformations or cracks during the print.

Spectrum PC/PTFE is an advanced composite yarn based on polycarbonate (PC) with the addition of PTFE, commonly known as teflon. This combination of properties satisfies the demand for additive manufacturing materials with excellent mechanical properties, particularly in relation to abrasion resistance.
